I’ve suddenly become very interested in book design.  Irma Boom is one of the greats, or so I read …

The Beehive Design Collective is a thought provoking organization producing educational graphics available to anyone free of charge as long as it’s used the name of progress and not profit.  The art is beautiful and the message each piece relays to the viewer is clear.  Click the photo and check out their engaging graphics!

America wastes half of the food it produces.  This documentary is a fair look at what happens to our wasted food and what can be done to put some of that potentially wasted food in the bellies of hungry people.

I LOVE embroidery and I made these two pieces as gifts for my sister and mother!

These farming videos make me believe I can make it work in the future.

What can make me more happy than a successful family farm operation? I really dont know.

More inspiration for my life and great commentary about what our country needs in terms of agricultural change.

Further inspiration for my future.

I am sure I mentioned this before, but I really do love traditional handmade items.  I love the care and heart that is put into each thing.  This video details the tradition of handmade lace in Cyprus and the fight it wages against machine made lace and tourists.

Everywhere I travel I seek out the unique and traditional but more and more often it is a challenge because so many things are mass produced at such an inexpensive cost that traditional craftsman and craftswoman just can’t afford to continue the craft and the younger generation has no interest.

Next time you travel abroad or at home, be sure to seek the truly handmade traditional items, and help to preserve an artform for future generations.

The Empathic Civilization is a great video discussing the world’s potential to be one giant family that cares for one another.  It’s idealistic and positive and that’s exactly why I love it.

Simply put, this will be my life some day in the future.
